About The Position

The Associate Collection Specialist supports the onboarding of new merchants into the Collection service, ensuring a smooth end-to-end setup, accurate documentation, and timely coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role contributes to a high-quality merchant experience while helping ensure operational readiness, compliance, and service reliability from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate merchant onboarding activities for Collection service (intake, requirements, setup, testing, go-live)
  • Collect and validate onboarding documents and data; ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Liaise with Sales, Operations, Compliance, Risk, IT, and other stakeholders to resolve onboarding dependencies
  • Support configuration and integration steps (channels, settlement details, reporting needs) as per internal procedures
  • Track onboarding progress, update status reports, and follow up on pending actions with stakeholders and merchants
  • Communicate onboarding timelines and requirements to merchants; provide guidance during activation
  • Support issue triage during early-life merchant activity and escalate incidents appropriately
  • Maintain organized onboarding records and ensure adherence to service standards and SLAs

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–4 years of experience in onboarding, operations, collections services, merchant support, or a related banking/financial services function
  • Strong coordination and follow-up skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple onboarding cases in parallel and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) and customer-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with basic compliance requirements and documentation standards is an advantage

Nice To Have

  • Experience onboarding merchants for payments, collections, or cash management solutions
  • Understanding of KYC/AML and merchant due diligence processes
  • Experience working with ticketing tools and SLA-based operational environments
  • Ability to analyze onboarding bottlenecks and suggest process improvements

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to maintain trackers and status reporting
  • Comfortable using internal onboarding/CRM/workflow systems (or ability to learn quickly)
  • Basic understanding of merchant integration concepts (file formats, settlement accounts, reporting) is an advantage
  • Strong email communication and documentation skills
