About The Position

The Senior Cards Specialist drives the strategic development and operational management of card issuing solutions. The role supports product planning and delivery for SME offerings, instant issuance, and youth segmentation initiatives, with a focus on growing transaction volumes, improving customer experience, and optimizing issuing systems and processes in coordination with internal teams and external partners.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support development of issuing products and propositions (e.g., SME, instant issuance, youth segment) from concept to launch
  • Coordinate day-to-day operational management of issuing solutions, ensuring service continuity and compliance with internal controls
  • Work with processing partners/schemes/vendors to implement enhancements, resolve issues, and optimize performance
  • Define and monitor product KPIs (activation, spend, transaction volume, interchange, profitability) and recommend actions
  • Identify process and system improvements to reduce friction across card lifecycle (issuance, personalization, delivery, replacement, disputes)
  • Support pricing, features, and packaging decisions aligned with market needs and business strategy
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Fraud, and Operations to ensure secure and compliant issuing practices
  • Contribute to product documentation, procedures, and training materials for internal stakeholders

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, MIS, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in cards issuing, payments product management, cards operations, or a related role in banking/fintech
  • Strong understanding of card issuing lifecycle and operating model (issuance, authorization, clearing/settlement, disputes/chargebacks)
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive cross-functional execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to align stakeholders and manage external partners

Nice To Have

  • Experience with instant issuance programs and card personalization/fulfillment operations
  • Exposure to SME banking propositions and youth/student product design
  • Experience in scheme rules, interchange, and card program profitability analysis
  • Knowledge of fraud prevention and dispute management best practices

Technical Skills

  • Strong Excel skills for KPI tracking, portfolio analysis, and reconciliation support
  • Familiarity with issuing/processing platforms and card program operations (ability to work with vendors/IT on configuration and change requests)
  • Comfort interpreting operational and transactional reports (authorization/clearing/settlement, dispute reporting)
  • Ability to write clear product requirements and operational procedures
